The Baggage We Carry — Women's Day Retreat at ODCC

Ladies, mark your calendar. On Saturday, November 7, 2026, Open Door Christian Church is hosting "The Baggage We Carry!", a one-day women's retreat from Toolbox Ministries. It runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM right here at 1700 S. Clara Ave. in DeLand.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28

Every one of us carries something: worry, grief, regret, the weight of caring for everyone else. This retreat is a day set apart to lay those burdens at the feet of Jesus, to rest in His presence, and to pick up practical tools for the daily walk with Christ. You will leave renewed, encouraged, and equipped.

Toolbox Ministries is a local ministry offering tools rooted in Scripture for women who want to grow, nurture their faith, ignite hope, and embrace love. We are glad to open our doors to them and to you.

What the Day Looks Like

Morning Worship — Begin the day preparing your heart through praise and worship.
Opening Devotional — "The Baggage We Carry — Learning to Lay It at His Feet." How Christ invites us to release our burdens and walk in freedom.
Morning Breakout Session — Choose from five workshops built around practical tools for strengthening your relationship with Christ.
Lunch — A Fall Harvest Meal prepared especially for you.
Afternoon Breakout Session — Your second workshop choice of the five.
Closing Devotional, Praise and Worship — Celebrate God's goodness together and go home reminded that you never have to carry life's burdens alone.

Parking and Arrival

As you come onto the property, park in the open areas of lawn near the main building on the right. Limited disabled parking is available to the left of the main building. Plan to arrive a few minutes before 9:00 AM so you can check in and settle in before morning worship begins.

Come, and Bring a Friend

Seats are $25, and that includes the whole day: worship, two workshops, and lunch. Think of a friend, a daughter, a sister, or a neighbor who could use a day of rest, and invite her along.
